Fiesta Hippie- La Fresa Acida-EL Klan-1969

Back in the hippie days, mexican "rock" music was just beggining to take shape, due to the big influence that our neighbors from the north has had on our own culture, so it was just a natural thing for mexican bands to play the popular songs at the time (American or English). There were bands who covered every song imaginable, playing the same rhythm but adapting the lyrics into spanish, or sometimes singing them in english (not a very good idea in my opinion, as not everybody could speak fluent english), resulting in some very weird sounding albums, like this one...

Introducing Fiesta Hippie (Hippie Party), 10 of the 13 songs here are played by "La Fresa Acida" (The sour strawberry), and 2 by "El Klan", and on the front cover you can see some of the stereotypes of being "hippie": everybody was making out or smoking weed... (ahhhh those good old times!!!)

This is supposed to be a live album, but if you listen carefully you can hear the same cheers and whistles all over and over again, so I just think it's overdubbed, anyway the music on this album does sound interesting...

And Here's The Track List:

Side A:
01- La Fiesta Hippie (The Beat Goes On)
02- La Ruleta De La Vida (Spinning Wheel)
03- Prendado De Un Sentimiento (Hooked On A Feeling)
04- Dame Un Amorcito (Bring A Little Lovin')
05- La Reina De Mi Amor (The Queen Of My Love)
06- Herido (I've Been Hurt)
Side B:
07- In A Gada Da Vida
08- Orgullosa Maria (Proud Mary)
09- Una Palida Sombra (A Whiter Shade Of Pale)
10- Regresa (Get Back)
11- Confesiones De Medianoche (Midnight Confessions)
12- Azucar, Azucar (Sugar, Sugar)
13- La Fiesta Hippie (Outro)

Please Enjoy!! and remember to play this record only on Stereophonic Equipment!

Lo disfruté muchísimo. Los overdubs de público son muy graciosos. Mi favorita, creo, fue "Azúcar, azúcar". Gracias por el post.

Can I ask how you are able to scan an image for a complete vinyl album cover?

I don't see any joins you see and I am just curious.

marisol: y tengo otro parecido con overdubbs de publico "en vivo" que dan risa tambien...luego lo posteo.

juicy: yes the album was a little bit damaged, I did what I could...glad you liked it.

anonymous: this is what I do..I scan the LP in 4 parts at 300 dpi, import them to Photoshop, create a new document meassuring 31 x 31 cm. then I start working on the top left corner, make sure it's straight (most of the times you have some text as a point of reference)and you can always use the grid. Now do the same with the remaining 3 parts, then lower the opacity of the layers to make sure everything's on it's place.
Now, with the clone stamp I take care of all the joins and blemishes.
The final step is to apply a noise reduction filter or some gaussian blur to take care of the moire effect (the pattern you get when you scan halftone images), and then do some color correction using levels for the final output.
